As you probably know, we are experiencing dangerous wildfire weather conditions and the long-term forecast is not looking great for recovery. We also have to consider the long-term implications of downed fuel from Helene. Four to five years from now, and possibly sooner, almost all of the available fuel in the landscape will be dry and receptive to extreme fire conditions. Now is the time to be ready and practice risk reduction strategies. See our wildfire resources page for information on how to reduce your risk, fire weather links, etc. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Take care and let us know if we can help in any way Wildfire Resources — Blue Ridge Resource Conservation and Development

I have to find a new home for my dog Bodhi. Black Lab/ hound mix at least 7 years old. He needs someone who can take him on long daily walks or a run. He is very trainable. I found him on the highway right before the hurricane. He loves to lay in the sun and gets along really well and maturely with all people and dogs he encounters. He’s up to date on shots. I will help offset initial costs by giving you three months of his tick, flea and heartworm medications. He really is a laid back companion but needs more than what I can give him. The shelter was at capacity when I found him and I have been trying to make the best of it. I know he will make someone a great hiking or running partner. Pic here.
