THIS IS NOT EVERYTHING

NOTE: There’s a lot of stuff this time, so I’m dividing this in two. This one has (I think) everything that is time-stamped plus some other stuff. I should be able to send the rest on Sunday night.

Did Shirali Muslimov really live 168 years?
Monday, January 12, 6:00 pm CCC upstairs
We may have the answer. This fall we went to a remote village of Azerbaijan on the Iranian border. This beautiful mountain realm has been home to hundreds of centenarians +, one of whom we had the fortune to meet. We will share with visuals and stories from our two 2025 visits to Azerbaijan, in which we formed deeper bonds of friendship and conservation solidarity.

The film follows the work of conservation biologists and explorers, revealing both the beauty and vulnerability of these ecosystems. South Toe Stewards is honored to host this film’s South Toe Valley premiere. Biologists featured in the film and other local experts will be on hand for Q&A afterwards. $5-10 donation requested to cover licensing costs.

Local Futures Film Series: Closer to Home
Event Date and Time Change: January 19th from 7-8pm CCC Upstairs
The film ‘Closer to Home’ brings together an extraordinary array of thinkers, writers and activists from every continent to make a simple but revolutionary argument: by reducing the scale of the economy, we can not only stop the rush towards social and ecological breakdown, but restore damaged ecosystems and increase our own personal well-being. It’s a message of hope that the world cannot afford to ignore. We will also watch a short video on global trade. **This is a fragrance-free event.

AI discussion: as a part of Cabin Fever University, we are going to get together at 7pm on Tuesday, January 27 in the CCC to talk about AI developments in the last few years and share concerns, enthusiasms, questions, and examples. Please email me with any of your personal use cases and/or topics that you would like to discuss, as I am putting together a slideshow to ground our discussion. I am particularly interested in including what people are experiencing in their work or personal lives, as there will be people attending who have not engaged directly with AI and wonder what the fuss is all about.

Looking for an amazing babysitter (or three). Happy to pay going rates for someone who loves kids, has lots of experience with sibling dynamics, and their own transportation. Background checks or references required, unless you are a friend of a friend or I know you already. They are pretty chill kids, all things considered. No teen sitters, sorry. Just grown-ups. We live right in town. Two littles, ages 11 and 7. Would just be occasional care for when I want to attend events and workshops.

This New Year I’d like to remind of my healing practice. I offer in-person and virtual personal & couple’s coaching sessions using Applied Kinesiology (aka muscle testing) that help you efficiently heal yourself or your relationship at the level of the mind, even if the issue shows up as physical pain, illness, or dis-ease. I also offer intuitive counseling and loss & grieving sessions as support through challenging times. First step is scheduling a complimentary consult by contacting me here. I’d be honored to “walk a path” with you.
