Hello everyone, hope you are all staying cool and enjoying some well deserved rest and recreation this season! See below for updates and new opportunities to volunteer.
Schedule a clean up with us! Request a dumpster!
Now you can support ongoing recovery efforts on your own schedule. Do you have 2 or more friends you’d like to get outside and volunteer with? Groups of all sizes can help continue cleanup and restoration work across the county. We bring the supplies and handle the trash removal. If you're interested or want to learn more, email Miguel at mhuerta@thebeaconnetwork.org.
Does your neighborhood still need a cleanup? We can provide dumpsters, as well as bags, gloves, and other supplies. We can also send volunteers out to help. Connect with your neighbors and let us know what you need!
Please continue to let us know about sites that need cleanup or restoration!
Community Mulch Pile
The community mulch pile is still open and available at the former site of the Ten Thousand Things Coop/Toe River Crafts. Thank you to the Celo community for making this space available! Self serve, take what you need. This is single grind mulch made from hurricane debris.
North Toe Clean Up Service Learning
Last week we hosted a group of youth from Wake Forest Baptist Church who helped plant natives and cane on the North Toe in collaboration with North Carolina Outdoor Adventures. We look forward to hosting future guests for service learning and volunteer opportunities. Let us know of any groups that may want to come out!
Fall is Around the Corner - Where is Restoration Needed?
We are beginning to plan our restoration and planting for the fall season. If you know of any sites that need cleanup or restoration, please get in touch!
Landowners needing assistance and volunteers looking to help can fill out the appropraite form at https://www.thebeaconnetwork.org/getinvolved
